Funny how the presence of a particular band on an image can give such a kick. This is the result of hard work by Ben Bar-Sade, who was here during the month of August.
Ben received a Daniel Turnberg Travel Fellowship from the The Academy of Medical Sciences, to learn hairpin-bisulfite PCR in our lab.
The results of this particular experiment will show if a stressful environment during early life can influence the epigenetic state and stability of a certain gene in adults – a collaborative research project with my colleagues Gillian Bentley (Durham University / UK) and Philippa Melamed (Technion / Israel) which is funded by the BBSRC and ESRC.
We plan to report the exciting results of this project in due time.
